Annual Bike Ride to Raise Funds for City's Reforestation Projects

Tour de Houston Presented by Apache Corporation is a fundraising bike ride that benefits Houston's Reforestation Program. The ride will take place Sunday, March 18, 2018. This annual event offers Houstonians and visitors a unique way to view the city with bike routes winding through Houston’s historic neighborhoods, scenic districts and parks. With three ride length options, the Tour de Houston is the perfect event for leisure riders or cycling enthusiasts. In addition, it is a BP MS 150 recommended training ride.
This event begins and ends in Hermann Square at City Hall located at 901 Bagby. Riders and volunteers will enjoy a post-ride party that includes live music, free food and beverages.

Rest Stop Volunteer
Tour de Houston presented by Apache Corporation has 3 rest stop locations along the 3 combined routes. Each rest stop is staffed by a City of Houston staff captain with a volunteer crew of 30-40 people. Report times fall between 5:30-6:30 a.m. and will close by 1:00 p.m. or before.
Volunteers will be treated to breakfast and lunch. Duties include: set up of tents, serving fruit, water and snacks to the riders, collect cardboard and trash for recycling, directing riders in and out of the area.
Packet Pickup Volunteer (ALL POSITIONS FILLED)
• Thursday and Friday, March 15-16
from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at City Hall (lunch provided)
• Saturday, March 17
from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sun at Sun and Ski on Westheimer (lunch provided)
• Sunday, March 18
from 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (breakfast provided)
Duties include: rider check-in, bib assignment, distribution of event materials
Hydration Station Volunteer (ALL POSITIONS FILLED)
Sunday, March 18
at City Hall (food and drinks provided)
• Shift #1: 5:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers set up station with water, PowerAde, ice, etc. for riders, collect cardboard and trash for recycling
• Shift #2: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Volunteers keep station stocked, collect cardboard and trash as needed, assist in take down
